India will kickstart their World T20 campaign with warm-up matches against West Indies and South Africa, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Sunday (January 17).
India will play their first warm-up game against the World No.1-ranked Twenty20 International side - West Indies - at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on March 10. They will then go on to play their second warm-up game against South Africa at the Wankhede in Mumbai three days later.
West Indies will stay in Kolkata and play their second warm-up against Australia, while South Africa take on a local team four days after playing India.
Sri Lanka, the defending champions, will go up against New Zealand and Pakistan before beginning their campaign against one of the qualifiers on March 17 in Kolkata.
India will open their campaign against New Zealand on March 15 at Nagpur, while Pakistan, Australia and one of the qualifiers will join these two teams in Group 2.
New Delhi and Mumbai will host the semi-finals on the 30th and 31st respectively, whereas the final will be held at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on April 3.
